Hundreds of people have requested and downloaded the Cross Graphic which is featured on the www.timothyreport.com website. Many have written and requested a T-shirt—and now you can get them! Professionally designed in color, these shirts are sure to grab attention and draw comments. From a distance it will look like a cross (of course), but when people get closer, they see there are words on it, and they can’t help but look! A great way to share your faith in Christ!!!

Some sizes are already sold out, or with only one or two left. They’re great for Christmas gifts (but you need to order quickly!), for yourself as a wonderful way to share your faith. You can see what the shirt looks like and find out all the details by clicking on the link at the top of the home page of the website.

THIS WEEK’S GRAPHIC

GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS
In December 1990 the national zoo in Washington, D. C. reported a terrible accident. The rare Trinidad ant display in the ant house suffered a great loss. The working ants were trying to transfer the queen egg-laying monarch from the chamber where she resided for the previous four years to a new chamber they prepared for her. But the hole they took her through was not large enough, and her head came off in the transfer.

What is interesting is that business went on as usual for over a month. They put the headless queen in the new chamber and continued their work. So long as the smell of the queen was present they continued to work.

Even royalty rots after a month or so. When they realized the queen was dead the colony was not far behind. Scientists say the queen can live up to 14 years with proper care. She is the egg layer and if she dies there are no eggs, consequently no workers and eventually no colony.

Men are like ants in many respects. Look at Samson. In Judges 14:6 it says, “The Spirit of the Lord was on him.” Two chapters later in Judges 16:20 it says, “But he did not know that the Lord had left him.”

So often we go through the motions of our prayer life without realizing we lost the power and fervor necessary to see the glory of God.

THE CHURCH SECRETARY
A good church secretary is a combination minister, pastoral assistant, communications manager, information director, publisher and office manager. She must be skilled in public relations, organization, motivation, diplomacy and efficiency in addition to office work.

As the primary weekday contact most members have with the church, she deals with the multitude of demands they make. She, therefore, must deal deftly with each caller and office visitor. She must be businesslike, but warm and personal just as people expect their church to be. A person treated rudely by the church secretary feels affronted by the church.

She is responsible for almost everything that goes on at the church but has absolutely no authority.

She must be aggressive in fulfilling her duties but she must never be perceived as calling anyone to accountability.

She must be knowledgeable about denominational agencies and what literature and services they offer, church procedures, first aid and where to find the best bargain.

The church secretary must work for days, even weeks, gathering information that someone else presents … and receives the praise “for all the hard work.”

And, the church secretary must above all else understand the importance of confidentiality.

So here’s to the church secretary. Churches may go months without a pastor or other staff member, but have you noticed they never go long without a secretary?

ALL WE WANT
All we want in Christ, we shall find in Christ. If we want little, we shall find little. If we want much, we shall find much; but if, in utter helplessness, we cast our all on Christ, He will be to us the whole treasury of God.

INDWELLING CHRIST
O Jesus, come and dwell in me,
Walk in my steps each day,
Live in my life, love in my love,
And speak in all I say;
Think in my thoughts, let all my acts
Thy very actions be,
So shall it be no longer I,
But Christ that lives in me.

WHAT A GLORIOUS THOUGHT: ENCASED IN THE ARMOR
There is nothing sweeter in life than to be conscious of being so encased in the armor of the Holy Spirit that Satan cannot touch us.
--A. B. Simpson

NOTE: “Encased in the Armor” would be a good sermon title on the Armor of God.

THE BIBLE
The Bible is one of the greatest blessings bestowed by God on the children of men. It has God for its Author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture for its matter. It is all pure, all sincere; nothing too much; nothing wanting!

Get near to God if you would partake of what he has prepared.  If you would drink from his fullness, live in fellowship with him by simple love and often meditate on him.  And be sure this, that however within his house the stores are heaped and the treasury full, you have neither part nor lot in the matter unless you are children of the house.

GOD IS…
God is Lord Almighty, Omnipotent King, Lion of Judah, Rock of Ages, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Provider, Protector, Paternal Leader, Ruling Lord and Reigning King of all the universe.

He is Father, Helper, Guardian and God. He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End. He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all He keeps. The Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.

He always was, is, and will be: Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone. He was bruised and brought healing. He was pierced and eased pain. He was persecuted and brought freedom. He was dead and brought life. He is risen and brings power. He reigns and brings Peace.

The world can’t understand him, the armies can’t defeat Him, the schools can’t explain Him, and the leaders can’t ignore Him. Herod couldn’t kill Him, the Pharisees couldn’t confuse Him, the people couldn’t hold Him! Nero couldn’t crush Him. Hitler couldn’t silence Him, the New Age can’t replace Him and Donahue can’t explain Him away!
He is light, love, longevity, and Lord. He is goodness, kindness, gentleness, and God. He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure. His ways are right, His word is eternal, His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me! His is my redeemer, He is my Saviour, He is my guide, He is my peace, He is my Joy, He is my comfort, He is my Lord and He rules my life.

I serve Him because His bond is love, His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life. I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise, the power of the powerful, the ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and the sovereign Lord of all that was, is and is to come.

And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size. His goal is a relationship with ME! He will never leave me, forsake me, mislead me, forget me, overlook me, and never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!

When I fall, He lifts me up. When I fail, He forgives me. When I am weak, He is strong. When I am lost, He is The Way. When I am afraid, He is my courage. When I stumble, He steadies me. When I am hurt, He heals me. When I am broken, He mends me. When I am blind, He leads me. When I am hungry, He feeds me. When I face trials, He is with me When I face persecution, He stills me. When I face problems, He comforts me. When I face loss, He provides for me. When I face Death, He carries me Home!

He is everything for everybody, everywhere, every time, and in every way. He is God, He is faithful, I am His, and He is mine. My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world, and so, if you’re wondering why I feel so secure, understand this: He said it, I believe it, and that settles it.

God is in control, I am on His side, and that means all is well with my soul.
--Author Unknown, though this appears to be a modernized version of S. M. Lockridge’s “My King Is…” which was included in The Timothy Report a couple of months ago.

DOES HIS NAME SOUND FAMILIAR? LOOK WHAT CHRIST DID FOR HIM!
Five years ago I came to believe in Christ’s teaching, and my life suddenly changed; I ceased to desire what I had previously desired, and began to desire what I formerly did not want. What had previously seemed to me good seemed evil, and what had seemed evil seemed good. It happened to me as it happens to a man who goes out on some business and on the way suddenly decides that the business is unnecessary and returns home. … The direction of my life and my desires became different, and good and evil changed places.

HOPE
Our hope in God pulls us into the future. Hope allows us to affirm the reality of the abundant life that is ours in Christ. Hope allows us to stand with those in pain and to hold them until they are able to feel the love of God for themselves again. Hope allows us to work to bring God's reign upon the earth even when we see no results. Our hope begins and ends in God, the source of all hope.
