JESUS ALONE
Jesus alone is the Savior of the world. Salvation is not available from any political, religious, or ideological leader. Hitler believed he was beginning a thousand-year rule. Jesus said that only those who believe in the Son have eternal life (John 3:36). Lenin promised the Russian people that every household would have bread. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life” (6:35). Buddha taught enlightenment. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world” (8:12). Mohammed claimed to be descended from Abraham through Ishmael. Jesus said, “Before Abraham was, I am” (8:58). Freud preached a gospel of psychotherapy as the answer to people’s emotional and spiritual pains. Jesus said, “My peace I give to you” (14:27).

WHY YOUR CHURCH SHOULD HELP A CHURCH IN ASIA IMMEDIATELY
by Rick Warren
1. IT TEACHES OUR PEOPLE TO BEAR SPIRITUAL FRUIT
“Our people must learn to help all who need their assistance, that their lives will be fruitful.” Titus 3:14 (Living)
2. IT PROVES OUR LOVE FOR GOD
“If anyone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need and refuses to help—how can God's love be in that person?” 1 John 3:17 (NLT)
3. IT IS PLEASING TO GOD
“Don't forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:16 (NLT)
4. IT IS AS IF WE’VE DONE IT TO JESUS
“When you did it to these my brothers you were doing it to me!” Matthew 25:40 (Living)
5. IT IS A POWERFUL WITNESS TO THE WORLD
“If you feed those who are hungry and take care of the needs of those who are troubled, then your light will shine in the darkness, and you will be bright like sunshine at noon." Isaiah 58:10 (NCV)

MY TOP TEN PREDICTIONS FOR THE YEAR 2005
10. The need for God’s people to be increasingly faithful will grow more and more as the year progresses.
9. What is true today will be true tomorrow.
8. Christians will still be ridiculed and mocked by those whose lives are slanted away from God.
7. The Bible will still hold the answers for the questions of our lives.
6. God will still answer the prayers of His people.
5. God will bless His people. There will never be a moment in the coming year when He will not be present with those who love Him.
4. The love of God will be just as true, reliable and strong as ever.
3. Though many will reject it, there will still be room at the Cross for anyone who chooses the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
2. For those who love and seek the Lord, all things will work together to bring about God's good purpose, which is to conform them into His image.
1. It will still be possible to receive love and forgiveness by confessing sins, repenting and receiving Jesus as Lord of our lives.

THE PARADOX OF GOD
He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.
The loftiest and most exalted became the embodiment of humility and simplicity.
The richest became the poorest that the poor might become rich.
He came out of dry ground to become a fruitful vine.
He feasted with publicans and sinners that they might not starve in their sin.
He starved for 40 days in the wilderness that we might feast on the impeccable Bread of Life.
He taught us to love our enemies, to do good to those who treat us badly.
He emptied Himself that we might be filled.
Mighty conquerors with vast armies and terrible weapons have sought in vain to subdue the world—He conquered a vast kingdom with simple weapons of agape.
The Lion became the Lamb that sheep might become shepherds.
His heart was broken that He might bind up the broken-hearted.
- His body was crushed that we might be made whole.
We come into the world to live; He came to die.
The purest One was called illegitimate, blasphemer, winebibber, glutton and impostor by guilty sinners.
The Lord of lords became a lowly servant to serve the pitiful needs of mankind.
The Man of Sorrows acquainted with the depths of grief became the joy of the world.
He was rejected that we might be accepted.
He was bruised that we may be healed.
He was condemned that we might be justified.
He was judged that we would not be judged.
He was deserted for a time by the Father that we might find access to the Father.
He died as the innocent One that the guilty might be declared innocent.
By grasping life we die; through death we find life.
Glory to the Lamb, the Paradox of God.

ABOUT CHRIST
When you are the neediest, He is the most sufficient.
When you are completely helpless, He is the most helpful.
When you feel totally dependent, He is absolutely dependable.
When you are the weakest, He is the most able.
When you are the most alone, He is intimately present.
When you feel you are the least, He is the greatest.
When you feel the most useless, He is preparing you.
When it is the darkest, He is the only Light you need.
When you feel the least secure, He is your Rock and Fortress.
When you are the most humble, He is most gracious.
When you can’t, He can.

MUD PUDDLES AND DANDELIONS
When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are going to take over my yard. My kids see flowers for Mom and blowing white fluff you can wish on.
When I look at an old drunk and he smiles at me, I see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money and I look away. My kids see someone smiling at them and they smile back.
When I hear music I love, I know I can't carry a tune and don't have much rhythm so I sit self consciously and listen. My kids feel the beat and move to it. They sing out the words. If they don't know them, they make up their own.
When I feel wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing up my hair and pulling me back when I walk. My kids close their eyes, spread their arms and fly with it, until they fall to the ground laughing.
When I pray, I say thee and thou and grant me this, give me that. My kids say, "Hi God! Thanks for my toys and my friends. Please keep the bad dreams away tonight. Sorry, I don't want to go to Heaven yet. I would miss my Mommy and Daddy."
When I see a mud puddle I step around it. I see muddy shoes and dirty carpets. My kids sit in it. They see dams to build, rivers to cross and worms to play with.
I wonder if we are given kids to teach or to learn from? No wonder God loves the little children!!
"Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things."
I wish you mud puddles and dandelions...

FRIENDSHIP
Shane Braisdell of Wigan, England, is selling his friendship on the Internet.
The 29 year-old retail manager, who is married with two children, is offering 12-month friendships in a range of packages.
For 99 pence, people can expect a birthday card, monthly e-mails and a framed certificate of friendship. The most expensive deal is 500 pounds (for which friends will receive a DVD of his choice every month). For packages of 70 pounds and more, Mr. Braisdell will give out his cell phone number.
He describes himself as short and tubby, and he will not enter into extramarital relationships or anything that involves his family.
"I'm trustworthy, honest and reliable," he says. "Everybody needs more friends."

GOD WILL WORK WHEN HE PLEASES
Cast not away your confidence because God defers his performances. That which does not come in your time, will be hastened in his time, which is always the more convenient season. God will work when he pleases, how he pleases, and by what means he pleases. He is not bound to keep our time, but he will perform his word, honor our faith, and reward them that diligently seek him.
