It Can't Be Done
Many years ago, "experts" in Germany believed that if trains moved at the frightful speed of 15 miles an hour, blood would spurt from the traveler's noses. Passengers would suffocate when moving through tunnels.
In 1881, when the New York YMCA announced typing lessons for women, vigorous protests were made. It was believed that the female constitution would break down under the strain.
Joshua Coppersmith was once arrested in Boston for trying to sell stock in a telephone company. He was told, "All well-informed people know that it is impossible to transmit the human voice over a wire."
I wonder what they would have said if they were told that one day the human voice could be transmitted through thin air?
"I can't do that." We may have programmed ourselves into believing that the situation is too difficult. Finding the strength to face another day, to smile in the fog of living, or to be excited about life in general may seem impossible at times. That's when we really need to turn things over to God, and trust Him. After all, those times when we have trouble seeing clearly are the things faith was made for.
Charles Swindoll has written, "The fierce grip of panic need not immobilize you. God knows no limitation when it comes to deliverance. Admit your fear. Commit it to Him. Dump the pressure on Him. He can handle it."
Deuteronomy 33:27 reads, "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms."
